We are the Bolays
Etienne, Alesha, Alice, Arthur and Amos . Together we run Elim Acres, a small farm located in the very southwestern corner of Manitoba. In 2018 we acquired a laying hen quota. We love being egg farmers and the chicken manure is a bonus too! After that we decided to keep growing and dove into the exciting endeavor of raising sheep, the spring of 2020. Etienne comes from a multigenerational farming family and is a second generation sheep farmer. We have three livestock guardian dogs who help us keep our livestock safe. Their names are Bonnie, Heidi and Hilda, along with a farm dog named Nina. We pride ourselves in Healthy Happy animals raised with minimum inputs. This summer our sheep were rotationally grazed to help with parasites and also renew the soil. We raise our sheep regeneratively and focused on animal and soil health.
Our Lamb is pasture raised and grain finished for the finest taste. Our Regenerative practices will ensure that our land produces high quality meat for years to come!
Make sure to take a look at our pictures! Our children are our Pride and JOY.
Interesting facts about our farm name:
It is named after Etienne’s parents’ previous farm, Elim Lamb Feeders.
Elim is a place in the Bible where the Israelites stayed after their exodus from Egypt. It was known to have 12 wells of water and date palm trees. It was a beautiful resting place, an oasis for the Israelites.
We want to continue to give God all the glory while building our family farm.
